USF basketball received some bad news Monday, learning that senior guard Shuan Noriega may not play again this season. Noriega, USF's three point specialist, has been out fot the past six weeks with a stress fracture in his foot. The big boot Noriega wears should be a little indication on the seriousness of the injury.
Bad news aside, Noriega could take medical redshirts giving the senior an opportunity to play another year. USF is coming off a strong performance against Georgetown getting their first Big East win of the year.
Sophomore guard Musa Abdul-Aleem has been out the last two games with back problems and if it doesn't improve, Abdul-Aleem could also take a medical redshirt.
Coach Stan Heath told the Tampa Bay Times, "Musa may do the same thing. He's going to take some time, see if it gets to a point where he can play on it," Heath said. "There is no timetable on either player right now.
USF continue play in the Big East Wednesday as they face off against Seton Hall at the Prudential Center.
