USF Bulls Basketball team's head coach Stan Heath talked about the season opener against the UCF Knights on Saturday night in an interview with Tom Jones and Rick Stroud on Friday morning.

"It's gonna be a war," Heath said of the opening night matchup.

The coach talked a little bit about "The War on I-4" and how it will continue to develop as a heated in-state rivalry in the coming years.

"That's a very good basketball team. And, they're coming into our league next year," Heath said. "I think it's always been a little undertone of a rivalry, but I think now, it's inevitable with them being in the same league that they're going to be a rivalry."

Anytime you can pit a bunch of players who have competed against one another for most of their playing careers, you're bound to build up some animosity. Most of these guys know each well from high school and have continued to face each other at the college level.

Both UCF and USF are coming off of 22-win seasons and will look to build upon those successful performances by starting out the season with a win.
