The Bulls' six-game losing streak is over, but at what cost?

USF used their defense and a pair of late field goals by Maikon Bonani, but lost their leader on offense, quarterback B.J. Daniels, in a 13-6 victory over the Connecticut Huskies.

Daniels went down midway through the fourth quarter, after a designed run that got USF into a first-and-goal situation.  That drive would eventually end with Bonani's first field goal.

After the game, head coach Skip Holtz said Daniels' injury was to his ankle, but that they needed to evaluate to see how much time he could miss.

USF took an early lead, as Daniels led the Bulls on an eight-play, 80 yard drive that finished with the quarterback taking it in from five yards out to make it 7-0.

Connecticut got a 50-yard field goal from Chad Christen at the end of the first half to cut the lead to 7-3.

Christen got another field goal on the Huskies first drive of the second half as well to make it 7-6.

The Bulls also broke the streak of not forcing an interception, as John Lejiste picked off Chandler Whitmer.

Matt Floyd, taking over for Daniels, got USF in position for Bonani's second field goal to set the score.

UConn had an opportunity to try and tie the game, but Whitmer's final pass was intercepted by defensive tackle Elkino Watson to end it.

The Bulls (3-6, 1-4 in Big East) will still need to win out to become bowl-eligible.  They have their bye week next week, and don't play against until November 17 when they travel to Miami to take on the Hurricanes.
