In a shortened season, every minute counts. At least, that's how Lightning captain Vinny Lecavalier has been playing.

Against the Eastern Conference rival Philadelphia Sunday night, No. 4 had quite a first period.

Minutes into the game, Lecavalier and Flyers defenseman Luke Schenn both received five-minute majors for fighting, Lecavalier's first fighting major since 2009. Tom vehemently disagrees that Vinny should be fightning, period.

Despite losing Lecavalier for five minutes, the Lightning were energized and the Forum was electric.

With just over a minute left in the opening period, Lecavalier snipes a power play goal on a tough angle to put the Bolts up 3-1 heading into the first intermission.

With six points in five games, Lecavalier is making every moment count, including showing a physical rival he's not putting up with their shenanigans on his ice.
