Adrian McPherson, a former Seminole -- both at Southeast and FSU -- joined the Storm on Tuesday afternoon.
“Adrian brings a lot to the table,” said vice president of football operations Jeff Gooch. “He is a guy that has played in the AFL before and the tools to lead. He is much more mature, as a person and a quarterback, than when he first played in the AFL in 2004.”
McPherson (6-3, 220) returns to Arena Football after five seasons with Montreal in the CFL.
For his three-year AFL career McPherson has appeared in 32 games and completed 529-of-888 passes for 6,863 yards with 119 touchdowns and 19 interceptions while adding 142 rushes for 707 yards and 34 touchdowns.
Meanwhile in the CFL he appeared in 77 regular season games and completed 145-of-243 passes for 1,505 yards with 10 touchdowns and six interceptions and added an 1,035 yards on 218 rushing attempts with 20 rushing touchdowns.
The Bradenton native prepped was named Mr. Football and Mr. Basketball for the state of Florida his senior season, the only high school player to accomplish that feat.
