The Tampa Bay Storm announced early Sunday that wide receiver Chandler Williams, set to start his second season with the team, died suddenly while at a flag football tournament in south Florida on Saturday.
"We are shocked and saddened to hear about the passing of Chandler," Storm president Derrick Brooks said. "Our heart and prayers go out to his fiance Vanita Harrigan, daughter Tori Williams, and the rest of his family."
Williams played his college ball at Florida International, and led the AFL in kickoff return average at 23 yards per return. He was 27 years old.
