Seminoles running back Chris Thompson, who was considering an attempt to return to school on a special exemption, has given up on that route.

Thompson informed the Orlando Sentinel late Tuesday, as the Noles had completed their Orange Bowl win, that "I've decided to move on and just see what happens." He will turn pro.

Thompson tore his ACL in an October win over Miami. FSU was trying a petition to the NCAA for what would have been a rare medical exemption.
