Rays pitching coach Jim Hickey was a guest with Ron Diaz and Ian Beckles on WDAE, talking about the upcoming start to spring training.

One of the big questions is what the team will do about its glut at starting pitcher, where a trade was expected to alleviate the situation.

Hickey said as of now all of the starters -- Wade Davis, Jeff Niemann, Alex Cobb, Matt Moore -- will be treated as true starters during the start of the spring.

"It'll work itself out," Hickey said, alluding to a possible trade. Failing that Hickey said he would not be surprised if Davis ends up in the bullpen.
