RODNEY AND MOLINA BACK FROM WBC: The final two Rays players returned Thursday from the World Baseball Classic, as Dominican Republic closer Fernando Rodney (who brought his WBC Gold medal for all to see) and Puerto Rico catcher Jose Molina (who didn't) were in Tampa Bay's clubhouse.
Manager Joe Maddon said Wednesday that he planned on giving Rodney "about five days" to wind down before ramping him back up for the regular season.
Molina, however, is on the other end of the spectrum, having just three plate appearances the entire tournament.
"I think the only part I'm a little behind on is the hitting part," Molina said Thursday morning. "I'm going today to the minor-league side to get some at-bats. I think [Friday] I'm going to play in the game [against the Pirates], and then Saturday do the same, going to the minor leagues, just to try and get as many at-bats as I can."
