Evan Longoria has left Rays camp, WDAE's Steve Carney reported early Wednesday morning.

Carney reports Longoria left to be with his girlfriend Jaime Edmondson, who is having labor induced.

Edmondson was not supposed to be due until April 1st.

Marc Topkin joined The Sports Page after Carney's initial report and said Longoria left Port Charlotte Tuesday night.

We'll have more details if necessary but keep in mind our desire to respect the couple's privacy as well.
