Ken Rosenthal, one of the nation's most respected baseball columnists, joined Ron Diaz on WDAE Wednesday and among several topics hit on the Rays' stadium situation.

And the folks from the Hillsborough County Commission might want to snag a copy of the interview. Rosenthal handed downtown Tampa a large endorsement.

"It's just that (Tropicana Field) is the wrong kind of ballpark in the wrong setting," Rosenthal said. "If they had a retractable roof ballpark in Tampa, and that's I know a fantasy especially in this economy right now, would that team be much more viable from an attendance standpoint? Yes, they would be."

The Fox Sports analyst also gave his thoughts on some of Tampa Bay's new acquisitions, James Loney and Yunel Escobar.
