The Washington Nationals have inked former Tampa Bay Rays infielder Will Rhymes to a minor league deal, guaranteeing him a shot at making the team in spring training.
His representation, Beverely Hills Scouting Council broke the news on Twitter on Thursday.
Rhymes, 29, hit .228/.299/.285 in 137 plate appearances over 47 games for the Rays in 2012 before being designated for assignment in September.
