NIEMANN ACTIVATED, RHYMES DESIGNATED: Jeff Niemann, making his first start since sufferring a broken fibula against the Blue Jays at Rogers Centre May 14, was activated from the 60-day disabled list prior to the game.  To make room for him on the 40-man roster, infielder Will Rhymes was designated for assignment.  Rhymes hit .228 with a home run and eight batted in in 47 games with the Rays, but spent a majority of the season with Triple-A Durham.
