The Rays came into tonights game having been blanked last night and the offensive production tonight was not much better as the Rays fell 2-1 to the Blue Jays.
Tampa Bay tried to jump on Morrow early and with two on and one out Ryan Roberts singled to left. Matt Joyce would try to come around and score but Raji Davis made a strong throw to gun down Joyce at the plate and the game remained scoreless after two innings,
Desmond Jennings came up in the third innning and gave the Rays their first run of the series as he launched an opposite field home run to give Tampa Bay a 1-0 lead. However, Moises Sierra, came up in the bottom half of the third and quickly tied the game for Toronto as he took a Hellickson change-up over the left field wall to tie the score, 1-1.
Jeremy Hellickson made very few mistakes tonight, but when he did he paid, and that included an Edwin Encarnacion solo home run in the bottom of the fourth to give the Blue Jays a 2-1 lead.
Brandon Morrow was outstanding for the Blue Jays tonight pitching 6.2 innings allowing just the one run while striking out five Rays hitter and picking up the win.
