The Office of the Commissioner of Baseball announced today that three Minor League players have been suspended following their violations of the Minor League Drug Prevention and Treatment Program.
Washington Nationals Minor League catcher Michael Albaladejo, free agent Minor League right-handed pitcher Vincent Payne, Jr, and Tampa Bay Rays Minor League outfielder Deshun Dixon has been suspended for 50 games without pay following a second violation for a drug of abuse.
The suspension of Dixon, who is currently on the roster of the Single-A Hudson Valley Renegades of the New York-Penn League, is effective immediately.
Dixon was batting .193 with a home run and 14 RBI in 38 games for the Renegades.
