As first reported by 620 WDAE's Steve Carney Wednesday night, the Rays have confirmed DH Luke Scott will begin a rehab assignment Friday with the Single-A Charlotte Stone Crabs.
Scott has been out since July 21 after straining his right oblique on a check swing against the Seattle Mariners.
Scott will join pitcher Jeff Niemann with the Stone Crabs.
