With not so many hot hitters to pick from, Rays skipper Joe Maddon has put one of the few into the cleanup role.

Maddon confirmed in his interview with Ron and Ian Wednesday that Brooks Conrad is hitting cleanup.

"He has been swinging the bat well," Maddon said. "They have another lefty going. Again we have a three-man bench today, Matsui, Rhymes and Lobaton."
