The Tampa Bay Lightning announced today that Tuesday’s game versus the Buffalo Sabres is sold out. It will mark the team’s 11th consecutive sellout in 11 home games to open the season. A limited number of standing room only seats will be released at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday and will be available at the McDonald’s® Ticket Office for students with a valid student ID as part of the team’s Student Rush Program for $20 each.
The Lightning’s string of 11 consecutive sellouts to open the season is the third-longest in franchise history. Tampa Bay sold out all 41 games for the 2005-06 season following their Stanley Cup Championship and went on to sell out the first 13 games of the 2006-07 season. Fans at the Tampa Bay Times Forum have also been treated to a lot of scoring by the Lightning as they lead the NHL for goals at home with 44.
Following Tuesday’s game the Lightning will hit the road for a four-game road trip and begins Thursday night at Madison Square Garden in New York City against the New York Rangers.
