The Tampa Bay Lightning announced Wednesday that a day prior to the Bruins game, it has already sold out. It will mark the team’s ninth consecutive sellout in nine home games to open the season.
A limited number of standing room only seats will be released at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday and will be available at the McDonald’s Ticket Office for students with a valid student ID as part of the team’s Student Rush Program for $20 each.
Fans who were not able to obtain tickets can still get in on the action as the Lightning will host a free party on Thunder Alley, the west plaza of the Tampa Bay Times Forum, with the game being projected on the wall of the adjacent parking garage. Sun Sports will broadcast their pre-game show, Lightning Live, from Thunder Alley and two lucky winners in attendance at the set will win a pair of all-inclusive Channelside Club tickets to Thursday’s sold out game.
The Lightning will also be offering a one-time coupon for 20 percent off at Tampa Bay Sports, the team’s official merchandise store, to those fans in attendance, as well as a number of food and beverage specials. Party-goers can begin setting up their lawn chairs, blanks, etc. 30 minutes prior to puck drop. No external food or drink will be permitted.
