Newly acquired Tampa Bay Lightning goaltender Anders Lindback is heading to Finland to play for Ilves Tampere, according to agent Michael Deutsch (via TampaBay.com).

Lindback, formerly a backup for the Nashville Predators, was signed to a two-year contract in July.

The 24-year-old Swede has had good results in his limited NHL experience. Last season he compiled a 5-8-0 record with a 2.42 goals against average and a .912 save percentage.

During the 2010-11 season, though, he had a much better go of it by posting an 11-5-2 record with a 2.6 goals against average and .915 save percentage.

Linback becomes the third Lightning player to look for work overseas and fifth player staying fresh while waiting out the "no end in sight" NHL lockout.

Damian Cristodero of the Tampa Bay Times noted that Victor Hedman and Adam Hall were both currently playing in Europe while center Nate Thompson is playing for ECHL Alaska and goalie Mathieu Garon is participating in a series of exhibition games with fellow NHLer in Quebec.
