Tampa Bay Lightning owner Jeff Vinik had new ideas to improve the Channelside district.

These ideas however, will not be used for the time being due to the fact that the Vinik group has decided to suspend their effort to take control of the Channelside area.

Tod Leiweke, the CEO of Tampa Bay Sports and Entertainment, which owns the Lightning and the lease to the Tampa Bay Times Forum, told the Tampa Bay Times, "We've decided to take a step back and suspend our pursuit," he went on to say, "There's a significant legal issue that we've just not been able to overcome and in some ways our stepping back helps it get resolved."
