The Tampa Bay Lightning players showed that they will be unified throughout the NHL lockout.
A group of players that included Steven Stamkos, Sami Salo, Marty St. Louis, Teddy Purcell, Brendan Mikkelson, Pierre-Cedric Labrie, Victor Hedman, and Mathieu Garon all showed team solidarity by reversing their jerseys, so as not to have their names, or the leagues logo showing.
Stamkos told the Tampa Bay Times "Obviously, we're not playing for Tampa right now. I don't know if there's a lot of meaning behind it but I guess if you... noticed it and can write about it, I guess there is some meaning to it."
Now that the National Hockey League has not opened training camp and also having scrapped the opener of the preseason, the relationship between the owners and players will continue to strain. The Lightning will be looking to show that they are united.
