Lightning captain Vincent Lecavalier joined the Sports Page Tuesday morning and expressed optimism that there will not be a lockout in the NHL.

"We're still very hopeful," he told Tom Jones and Rick Stroud. "It's still early so we're hoping there's no lockout. You don't want to go into another situation  like what happened right after we won the Cup in '04."

The entire following season was cancelled by labor strife after 2004. This time around the sides seem far apart as to what they feel the salary cap should be.

Other than that Lecavalier talked about the offseason addions which include goaltender Anders Lindback and defensemen Matt Carle and Sami Salo.

And Lecavalier promoted his Thursday night Texas Hold-em Poker tournament in Tampa. For more information on the event head to www.vinny4.com.
