New Lightning goalie Anders Lindback joined Tom Jones and Rick Stroud of the Sports Page on Thursday to discuss his new team and the dynamics he brings to the game.
When Lindback got the news he was traded to Tampa Bay, being happy would be an understatement.
"I was really happy and excited," Lindback said. "It was the team I would've prefered to go to, if I could choose out of all the teams that were interested. I needed to move to get some playing time and develop."
"This is a huge opportunity for me," he said. "I'm new in the NHL, I've played only two years, but I want to take the next step. I want to prove myself as a starter. It's a really good opportunity for me, and I'm looking forward to getting started."
Meanwhile, Lindback is a tall goaltender, to be specific, he is 6-6. The question was asked on how that height plays into his game.
"It's a game of inches," Lindback said. "The bigger you are, the more net you cover. You can combine that with being really athletic and be[ing] quick. I think it's a huge advantage."
