It took about 20 minutes for the Gators to name the replacement for departed defensive coordinator Dan Quinn.

Thursday afternoon the Gators promoted linebackers/special teams coach D.J. Durkin to the position.

"D.J. and I will run the defense, the way Dan and I did the past two years," said Gators head coach Will Muschamp said.

Muschamp added there would likely be another addition to the defenisve staff.
