The Florida Gators are headed back to New Orleans to play the Big East Champion Louisville Cardinals at the Allstate Sugar Bowl on January 2nd.  This will mark the ninth time the Gators have played in the Bowl, and first since their 51-24 victory over Cincinnati in 2009.

This game will be Will Muschamp’s second bowl game in as many years, and first BCS game at the helm of the Gators.  The contest marks the first time since October 24, 1992 that these two teams have met.  The Gators took that game 31-17.

This will be the first Sugar Bowl for the Louisville Cardinals, and second BCS bowl game for the school (2007 Orange Bowl).  Head coach Charlie Strong is 1-2 in bowl games in his career,
