The Florida Gators nabbed their first win of the season in the home opener against Alabama State on Sunday 84-35.  The #10 Gators had no problems with Hornets from the SWAC who lost to Middle Tennessee on Friday night. 

The Gators spent the first fifteen minutes of the game getting out to a 37-5 lead on the Hornets led by ten points from Patric Young, who finished the game with 12 points and 12 rebounds.  Guard Kenny Boynton led all scorers with 22 points on 8-10 shooting, including a perfect 4-4 from three point range. 

The Gators led at the half 47-9, and spent the second half allowing their bench to get in some quality work.  Flordia shot 47.5% from the field, but was a dismal 66.7% from the line.

The Gators will host #23 Wisconsin on Wednesday night.  Hear the game on 620am WDAE beginning at 7pm.
