Gator safety Matt Elam was added to the the list of 15 semifinalists for the Chuck Bednarik Award, which is given to the top defensive player at the end of each season.
Elam has 41 tackles, 4 tackles for loss, to go with a sack, a forced fumble and an interception.
He is one of 8 SEC defenders to be put on the semifinalist list.
On the other side of the ball, Running Back Mike Gillislee was named one of 16 semifinalists for the Maxwell Award list, given to the most outstanding player in the nation.
Gillislee is fourth in the SEC in rushing with 729 yards and fifth in the conference in rushing touchdowns with seven.
In other news, Wide Reciever Solomon Patton suffered a season ending injury against Georgia when he broke his arm after being tackled. Patton ended his season with one reception for 17 yards and 14 carries for 140 yards.
