Florida Gators’ sophomore quarterback Jeff Driskel has earned SEC Offensive Player of the Week honors, according to the league on Monday morning.

Driskel, who completed 14-of-20 passes for 219 yards two touchdowns, also racked up 81 yards on the ground. His 195 passer rating helped him lead the Gators to 555 yards of total offense and a 37 point explosion, the most by a Florida team in Knoxville since 1984, according to GatorZone.com.

His biggest plays of the game came in the second half. A 23-yard touchdown pass to Jordan Reed gave the Gators a 27-20 lead in the third quarter. His fourth quarter 75 yard strike to Frankie Hammong, Jr. was the dagger that put away the Vols for good.

It didn’t come easy for him and the Gators’ offense, though. At halftime they trailed 14-10 and struggled to move the ball at all until the end of the half. Head coach Jeff Muschamp addressed his team’s first half struggles after the win.

"We've put a tremendous emphasis on winning the fourth quarter, winning the second half and wearing down our opponent," Muschamp said (via ESPN.com). "That's something we've been able to do in the first three ballgames. That's something our kids have bought into doing."

Prior to the loss at the hands of Driskel and the Gators, the Tennessee Volunteers had been 13-0 when leading at half time under head coach Derek Dooley.
