My history in Tampa Bay sports radio goes right to the beginning. A 1988 graduate of Plant City High, shortly after I began working at the Plant City station WPLA-AM, which would in 1990 turn into Tampa's first all-sports station, WFNS.
I actually worked as a producer for Steve Duemig at WFNS and directed the Lightning broadcasts, duties I continued doing after WFNS was sold and the Sports Animal was born in 1997.
Then in 2001 I became the morning Sports Attack man, delivering the updates every morning straight through to the current day. As my parents both went to the University of Kentucky I love the Wildcats, and am a particularly huge fan of college basketball, but I did not attend UK -- I had a full ride (academic, not athletic) to Florida Southern College in Lakeland.
Literally a fan of all spots, my favorites (roughly in order) are college hoops, college football, baseball, hockey, NFL, soccer and tennis. I'm also big follower of high school sports and still write part-time for the Plant City Courier newspaper, where I began right out of high school.
