This is not the kind of news the Buccaneers want to hear: another player in trouble with the law.

Defensive end Da'Quan Bowers was arrested Monday morning at New York's LaGuardia Airport on gun possession charges.

According to authorities, Bowers had a loaded .40 caliber handgun in his carry-on bag when he was arrested at the check-in counter.  Bowers was flying from New York to Raleigh on a U.S. Airways flight.  Bowers will appear in court on Monday evening and is charged with 2nd degree criminal possession of a weapon.

The Buccaneers released this statement: "We are aware of the situation and are gathering information. We will withhold comment until we know all the facts."
