The Buccaneers have found their new wide receivers coach following the departure of PJ Fleck to be the head coach at Western Michigan University. The Tampa Bay Times' & 620 WDAE Rick Stroud is reporting the Buccaneers are set to hire Cowboys assistant John Garrett as their new receivers coach.
Garrett is the brother of Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett, and has served as the Cowboys passing coordinator for the past two seasons. This is Garrett's second stint with the Buccaneers as he served as a pro personnel assistant from 1992-1994.
Garrett telling the Fort Worth Star Telegram:
"I'm really excited about this opportunity in Tampa," Garrett said. "We had a had a great time interviewing down there, getting to know coach [Greg] Schiano more and more and the offensive coaches and the rest of the staff of the Buccaneers. It really went well, and I'm thrilled for the opportunity and just really excited to get started working for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers."
