It’s Wednesday and that means the 6-6 Bucs were back at work as they get ready for Sunday’s game against the struggling 3-9 Eagles at Raymond James Stadium. Bucs have lost two in a row and Andy Reid’s Eagles have dropped 8 straight.
Here’s the Bucs injury report: DT Roy Miller (head), CB LeQuan Lewis (knee), and RB D.J. Ware (illness) did not practice. WR Vincent Jackson (calf) was limited in practice on Wednesday.
Notable injuries for the Eagles: QB Michael Vick and RB LeSean McCoy both missed practice with concussions and are not expected to play. S Kurt Coleman (chest) also missed practice on Wednesday. CB Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie (knee) was limited. S Nate Allen (shoulder) and LB Mychal Kendricks (shoulder) were full participants at practice.
News & Notes:
- Bucs head coach Greg Schiano says CB LeQuan Lewis doesn’t appear to have a long term injury but he seems doubtful to play Sunday. That means the team must decide who will return kicks. Schiano says a number of players will be in the mix, including Chris Owusu and maybe even Michael Smith.
- Bucs offensive coordinator Mike Sullivan denied a report that he reached out to Boston College about their head coaching job. Sullivan says his only priority right now is running the Bucs’ offense.
- As for the offense’s struggles of late, Sullivan hinted the team may have some “tells” that may need to get rectified. He’s worried that the offense is too predictable at times.
- Bucs players are excited to have the 2002 team in the house on Sunday. That championship team will be honored with a special ceremony.
- With LeSean McCoy still suffering from a concussion, expect to see more of Bryce Brown at running back this week for the Eagles. Brown has rushed for a whopping 347 yards and 4 TDs over the last two weeks at a clip of 8 yards per carry.
