The 3-4 Bucs were back at work today at One Buc Place as they get ready for Sunday’s game at Oakland against the 3-4 Raiders. On the injury report, CB Eric Wright (Achilles) and CB Brandon McDonald (ankle) were limited today at practice. In addition, DE Michael Bennett (ankle) and LT Donald Penn (wrist) were listed as full participants at practice.
The Raiders have a laundry list of injuries to report. Among the notables, DT Richard Seymour (knee) and T Khalif Barnes (groin) did not practice. K Sebastian Janikowski (groin), LB Rolando McClain (toe), and C Stefen Wisniewski were limited in practice. RB Darren McFadden (shoulder), RB Mike Goodson (toe), and LT Jared Veldheer (elbow) all practiced fully.
News & Notes:
- Bucs coach Greg Schiano says there was nothing new to report on Eric Wright’s possible suspension. He did say Wright’s Achilles was improving.
- With Carl Nicks done for the season, Schiano says the team is going to “work some different combinations” this week along the offensive line. Don’t be surprised if you see Ted Larsen at center and Jeremy Zuttah switching over to left guard.
- Apparently, Jeremy Trueblood is not in the mix at left guard or any position along the offensive line. When approached in the locker room, Trueblood says he didn’t receive any reps at practice and wasn’t happy at all about it.
- Even though Al Davis is dead and buried, the Raiders are still following his blueprint on offense: Speed, speed and more speed. RB Darren McFadden and WRs Denarious Moore and Darrius Heyward-Bey can all fly. Moore is averaging 16 yards per catch and has a TD in three straight games.
- Bucs LB Mason Foster says the team is better prepared to face a guy like McFadden since the team has already faced homerun backs like DeAngelo Williams, Jamaal Charles and Adrian Peterson.
- Foster grew up in Seaside, California, which is about 90 minutes from Oakland. He’s expecting to have many family and friends at the game on Sunday but he says they’re all Raiders fans. Geez.
