The Bucs might have an unexpected extra challenge when they host New Orleans.

Jonathan Vilma, who is appealing his year-long suspension but hasn't played yet due to injury, said Sunday night he will be "allowed to play" against the Bucs.

Vilma is set to be activated from the physically-unable-to-perform list.

However the Saints on Monday did not confirm Vilma is clear to play.

His return would be  alarge boost to one of the league's worst defenses.
