Tampa Bay Buccaneers head coach Greg Schiano said Aqib Talib's job is his once he returns from a four-game suspension for failing a drug test.

"When Aqib's suspension is up, I really believe he'll work hard and be ready. And then we'll go from there," Schiano said.

A statement from the team last week said Talib took an unperscribed Adderall pill and that the cornerback would not appeal the suspension.

Suspensions due to off-field transgressions are nothing new for Talib. In 2010 he was suspended for the regular-season opener and docked pay for another game after an altercation with a St. Petersburg cab driver.

Talib seems remorseful, though, and it's safe to say his coach is backing him, for now atleast.

His contract is up at the end of the season and it will be interesting to see how Schiano and his staff handle the situation as a result of this incident.

One thing is certain, Schiano's methods and no-nonsense approach have no room for off-field distractions and slip-ups.

Those led to the departure of Kellen Winslow and Tanard Jackson in the offseason. Unless Schiano sees something different from Talib, he could be looking for work from a new team this offseason.
