Former Buccaneers defensive tackle Warren Sapp joined The Ron And Ian Show earlier today to promote his new book “Sapp Attack – My Story.”  The seven time pro bowler laced into third year Buccaneers DT Gerald McCoy with some harsh criticisms of his play on the field.

“The biggest thing I told him this year, he’s got to get that damn blocker off.  You got to go put your horns on people.”

McCoy missed ten games last season with a torn biceps muscle.  Sapp offered advice to McCoy on how to stay healthy.

“If you don’t go put your horns on people, you going to reaching for these running backs and they’re going to tear your shoulder off” Sapp said.  “You’re never going to be healthy enough to finish a season, and we won’t be able to see what you possess or what you’re learning because you’re always hurt.”

The 1999 NFL Defensive Player Of The Year wants to see McCoy play more angry on the field.

“I know you’re a good kid.  I know you’re a good guy, but you can’t live soft and fight hard.”

McCoy enters his third season with the Buccaneers with four sacks in 19 games played.
