Eric LeGrand, a former defensive tackle from Rutgers, had a conversation with our own Steve Duemig on Tuesday.
Moreover, LeGrand, who is paralyzed, visited One Buc Place on Tuesday to get better acquainted with his teammates, and he also announced, during a press conference, that his No. 52 Bucs jersey will be sold on the Internet. All of the proceeds will go towards the Eric LeGrand Foundation.
As for the interview with Steve Duemig, exclusively on WDAE, LeGrand enjoyed a good portion of his day getting to know his teammates better.
"You can hear a pin drop in there," LeGrand said on WDAE. "They were so focused on what I was saying and listening to everything coming out of mouth. They clapped for me and welcomed me apart of the team."
There was one particular player that caught LeGrand's attention, while he was speaking to the team. LeGrand loves making eye-contact, to see how much people are listening to what he is saying.
"That's exactly what I was doing. That's what I did when I was looking at LeGarrette Blount, when I was speaking," LeGrand said. "And it looked like he was starting to get teary-eyed. And I also saw Dallas Clark, and he was just smiling the entire time I was talking. I was like wow. I'm sitting here in front of all these NFL guys just sharing my story."
Meanwhile, the former Rutgers defensive tackle believes he will walk again; however, he embraces his role now, to help change and inspire the world.
"I really do believe this was what I was called on to do. When I do get up on my feet, it's really going to show the world that anything is possible, anything can happen," LeGrand said.
