Since 1989, the losing team in the Super Bowl is 5-17 in Week 1 (0-12 in last 12 years).
On any given night you can expect to see a fight break out during a hockey game. What you might not expect, however, is a player to swing his opponent's helmet.
That's what happened last night during the Jets-Candiens game when with less than four minutes left and trailing by three goals, Winnipeg's Evander Kane got into a tussle with Montreal's Alexei Emelin:
It's hard to tell if Kane was trying to (violently) throw Emelin's helmet aside or if he was swinging at his head. If Kane was attempting to smack Emelin in the noggin with his own helmet, the NHL may not be too happy about that.
There doesn't seem to be any word of the league looking into it yet.
