Since 2008 the Rays have been known for two things, defense and pitching. Last year was a historical year for both the starters and bullpen. David Price won the AL CY Young and Fernando Rodney recorded 48 saves. This year has been nothing like last year. David Price is on the DL, Rodney just blew his 4th save and the bullpen's struggles have been the story all year long.
MLB Network's Joe Magrane was on with Steve Duemig on Thursday to talk about the Rays. Magrane said the bar had been set so high because of the success of Rays pitching in the last few years. He believes Joe Maddon can develop pitching with the best of them and that there is a lot to look forward to with this team. A bright side to the Rays pitching has been Alex Cobb and Magrane praised Cobb and said he like's his stuff. Despite the struggles the Rays have gone through this season listen to how Magrane thinks the rest of the season will end up for Tampa Bay.
