Brazil's Biggest Heartbreak

Brazil's 7-1 loss to Germany on Tuesday has been called the biggest humiliation for the country. Brazil has never let in so many goals in a World Cup game or so many in a half. Germany scored 4 goals over a 6 minute span causing devastation to Brazilians across the world.

They found Brazil’s weakness on the field, finding gaps with a successful strategy. Germany came to win as every team competing, but you have to prove it on the field. Germany had a team, Brazil didn’t.

Neymar and Thiago Silva on the injured list left the team with little flare still healthy. Coach Luiz Felipe Scolari tried to rally the troops with encouragement that they could win but in the end felt ashamed as a coach that he was a part of the dreadful loss for Brazil.  Fans felt sad, disappointed but embarrassed more than anything. T

he loss ignited prior protests due to the defeat. Brazil spent millions of dollars for the World Cup and the high cost angered the spectators. For a team that had a 90% chance of winning it all, the host of the tournament got knocked out. Brazil hasn’t lost on home soil since 1975 and this is the worst loss since a 1920 6-0 loss to Uruguay. Brazilians stated that if their rival Argentina advances to the final that they will cheer for Germany.
