The second half of Rays pitchers and catchers, including right-hander Chris Archer, threw their second bullpen of Spring Training Tuesday at the team's Spring Training complex in Port Charlotte.  Archer, who threw to Ryan Hanigan today, feels the pair is really forming a great dynamic.

"To get out there and throw with him for the first time was special," Archer said after practice.  "Because he's worked with power arms who can pitch over there with the Reds.  I'm going to use all of his knowledge, and I think having him is going to help me succeed, because I'm going to have to do less thinking."

Manager Joe Maddon also took notice of the rapport the two have early into the spring.

"They can discuss existentialism on a daily basis or even during a hot moment against the Yankees," Maddon quipped.  "These guys are definitely on the same page.  I love to see that kind of stuff.

"Ryan is the kind of guy, when you meet him, you think you've known him for the last 10 years.  Archie is always seeking new and more information, so together those guys would probably hit it off.  I'm eager to see how that all plays out.  Stu [Sternberg] and I were discussing the Nietzsche component that could totally be in that moment."

As for what else he and the team's principal owner, who arrived in camp this morning, discussed, Maddon said it was simple.

"We were talking about my RV primarily, then the New York politics, and a little bit about the Rays too."

TWO MORE REPORT TO CAMP: Two more position players reported to the team's facility for the first time Tuesday, as utility player Logan Forsythe and second baseman Ben Zobrist arrived a day ahead of the mandatory report date for position players.  Two position players remain out of camp (shortstop Yunel Escobar and minor-league infielder Wilson Betemit) but are expected to report Wednesday.  Pitchers Juan Carlos Oviedo and Juan Sandoval remain in the Dominican Republic with visa issues, though the team hopes the issues can be resolved quickly and they can be in camp shortly.

FOR WEDNESDAY: Pitchers and catchers will have their final workout  before the first full-squad practice, which is slated for Thursday.  Wednesday's session at Charlotte Sports Park will start at 9:30, and is expect to last a couple of hours.
