The Buccaneers just keep signing players.  This time, they agree to terms on a 1 year deal with CB Mike Jenkins.

Jenkins (5-10, 197) went to high school at Bradenton Southeast and attended USF.  He started 15 games for the Raiders last season.  Jenkins, who turns 29 on Saturday, recorded 65 tackles and two interceptions.

Jenkins was a 1st round pick of Dallas back in 2008.  He actually made the Pro Bowl in 2009.  The Cowboys let him walk after the 2012 season when they drafted CB Morris Claiborne in the 2012 draft.

In a press release from the team, Bucs GM Jason Licht says Jenkins is "someone that we targeted early on in our free agency planning."  Licht also calls Jenkins a "proven corner who provides us with a valuable veteran presence and we expect him to compete for a starting spot in our defensive backfield."

Judging by Licht's comments, it appears Jenkins will compete with second year CB Johnthan Banks for a starting spot opposite Alterraun Verner.

Jenkins becomes the 11th free agent signing of the Bucs.  For late breaking Bucs news, keep it locked on 620 WDAE and 95.3FM and don't forget to keep checking the Bucs blog at 620wdae.com for further news and articles.
