It has already started. Not the constant bashing the Buccaneers' offensive line has received, but the lack of third down conversions Tampa Bay has had this preseason.
Following Saturday night's preseason loss to the MIami Dolphins, the Bucs' poor third down percentage was mentioned. In June, this issue was said to be an obstacle the Bucs would have to overcome to be successful -- where they finished 2013 at a 31.2 percent conversion rate. So far they have not been able to do so.
In two preseason games, Tampa Bay is 6-for-28 on third downs. Granted it's not the regular season and the reserves share part of the blame, the the first-team offense has struggled as well in this category.
There is still time to get things corrected, but it's better to start the season off fast than to struggle with a crucial part of the game.
