TAMPA, FL AUG. 27, 2014 (via USF Communications) – University of South Florida Director of Athletics Mark Harlan has appointed Andrew Goodrich to the position of Senior Associate Athletic Director for External Relations. Goodrich assumed his duties on Aug. 25.
Goodrich comes to USF from the University of Miami where he served as associate athletics director for marketing since August 2013 after working as an assistant athletics director since July 2012. Goodrich will be a member of Director of Athletics Mark Harlan’s executive staff and will oversee department revenue generation including IMG ticketing and IMG corporate sales, the USF ticket office, merchandising and licensing. He will work directly with University CMO Tom Hoof on Athletics marketing, branding and game presentation initiatives and have oversight over athletic communications.

Goodrich previously served as an assistant athletics director for administration at USF from 2005-09 and is currently completing his Ph.D. in higher education administration at USF.

As Miami’s associate athletics director for marketing and sales Goodrich served as a member of the external leadership staff where he oversaw revenue generation, ticket sales and marketing. He was responsible for the management of the marketing department’s promotional, advertising and budgeting strategies for the Hurricanes’ 17 varsity sports and helped the Hurricanes see tremendous growth including near record football and basketball ticket sales.
Prior to his time with the Hurricanes, Goodrich served as Director of Athletics at Owego (N.Y.) Free Academy, where he spearheaded significant athletic facility improvements and successfully fundraised 100 percent of the cost to build a cutting-edge strength and conditioning center.
Before returning to his hometown of Owego, N.Y., Goodrich was a member of USF’s senior staff and was a sports administrator for the sailing and golf programs from 2005-09. He also assisted in the development of annual marketing and sales plans, managed a $4 million grant-in-aid budget and managed game contracts in addition to head coaching employment contracts, multimedia rights and athletic apparel agreements. Prior to his career in intercollegiate athletics, Goodrich worked for International Business Machines (IBM) as a Financial Database Analyst & Accountant from 2000-05.
Goodrich earned his bachelor’s degree in business at Cumberland University, where he became a three-time academic all-conference selection as a member of the Bulldogs baseball team. He earned his MBA from the University of Notre Dame, and also earned a certificate from Cornell University’s Administrative Management Institute.
Goodrich will be joined in Tampa by his wife, Erika.
