Bulls Blown Out By #24 Marquette 70-47

It wasn’t pretty for the USF Bulls on Wednesday night at the Sun Dome as they fall to #24 Marquette 70-47.  The Bulls in conference struggles continue as they find themselves at 1-9 in Big East play as they shot 34% from the field against a Marquette team that is tied with Syracuse atop the Big East.

USF never led in the contest as the Marquette Golden Eagles soared off to a 13-3 run to begin the game.  The Bulls could not hold onto the ball as Marquette suffocated the Bulls offense forcing 12 turnovers in the first half.  Todd Mayo led the way for Marquette in the first half with 13 points on 5-7 shooting.  The Bulls managed only 13 points in the first half as they shot 27% from the field.

The Bulls didn’t do much better in the second as Marquette built a lead of 28 points at one point.  Freshman Zach LeDay led the Bulls with 14 points off the bench.  The Bulls offensive struggles continue with no starters in double digits.

The starting five for USF shot a combined 30% (10-33) from the field as the Bulls fall for a season high fifth straight game.  The Bulls will look to break their losing streak on Saturday as they head on the road to play Villanova at 3:00pm.
