Bucs First Day In Pads Little More Raggedy Than Head Coach Arians Expected

Sunday was the first time the Tampa Bay Buccaneers conducted a training camp practice in pads this year. Which also means it was the first time that Head Coach Bruce Arians has seen these players practice in pads ever.

Although he hadn't seen the film yet of the practice, Arians met with the media following the first day in pads. Overall he said, "It was a little more raggedy than I expected." But also in typical Arians' fashion, the coach used a few colorful terms to describe players that just weren't ready or maybe too nervous to perform during the first day in pads.

Arians was also critical of the offensive line that because of blown assignments allowed penetration into the backfield from defensive linemen like Ndamukong Suh & Vita Vea.

Players that has been asked about Arians' approach in dealing with the team have been universal in stating that they appreciate their coach being a straight-shooter. Well after the first day in pads, Arians was just that in talking to the media & when meeting with the team on Monday, he will more than likely share more colorful words to describe the performance of some of the players during their first day in pads.
