PORT CHARLOTTE (620 WDAE) -- The Tampa Bay Rays start the final homestand of the spring Wednesday, as the Baltimore Orioles come to Charlotte Sports Park for the penultimate home game of the Grapefruit League season. Erasmo Ramirez will get the start, taking on Kevin Gausman, with first pitch scheduled for 1:05.

BOURJOS MAKES IT TO PORT CHARLOTTE: Outfielder Peter Bourjos, acquired Tuesday from the Chicago White Sox for a player to be named later or cash considerations, arrived in camp at Charlotte Sports Park Wednesday morning after taking a early afternoon flight from Glendale, Arizona. Bourjos said he almost signed with the Tampa Bay Rays this offseason, but another deal cooled off discussions.
"It was pretty close," Bourjos said Wednesday. "I think when they traded [pitcher Drew] Smyly to Seattle that kind of put everything on hold, and it wasn't really a fit anymore."
But it ended up being a good thing for the nearly-30 year old, as he signed with the Chicago White Sox, who train near his home in Glendale before being dealt to the Rays.
SEVEN SENT OUT OF CAMP: The Rays made another round of cuts Wednesday morning, optioning catchers Luke Maile and Curt Casali along with reliever Ryan Garton to Triple-A Durham and reassigning for other players to minor-league camp: pitchers Justin Marks and Diego Moreno, catcher Mike McKenry and outfielder Shane Peterson. The team also informed catcher Jesus Sucre that he had made the team for Opening Day.
