Hernando deputies charge man with second degree murder

HERNANDO COUNTY, Fla. (970 WFLA)HernandoCounty deputies say they have arrested and charged a man with second degree murder with a firearm.

Sheriff’s officials said detectives in Hernando and Pasco counties investigated a possible homicide tip. Deputies said the tipster was able to provide a location and a possible suspect but did not know the identity of the victim.

HCSO said detectives found the alleged suspect leaving the area of Talisman Estates. Deputies said he was identified as 33-year-old Daniel Burnette. When he was taken into custody and questioned by detectives, sheriff’s officials said he provided a detailed account of the murder and also provided several items of evidence.

 

Deputies said based on that and his confession, Burnette has been arrested and charged with second degree murder with a firearm and is being held on a no bond status.
